Consistency is Key: Simple Habits to Build Confidence, Momentum, and Results in Your Travel Business

Written by Laura DeVeiga | Jan 30, 2026 3:00:03 PM

If there’s one thing I’ve learned about running a business in this industry, it’s this: The advisors who grow the fastest aren’t always the ones doing the most. They’re the ones doing the most consistently.

And I know “consistency” can start to feel like one of those words people throw around as advice, without ever really explaining what it looks like in real life, especially in a business like ours, where the work is emotional, personal, time-sensitive, and constantly changing.

So let’s make it real.

Consistency isn’t posting every day.
It isn’t working 10-hour days.
It isn’t being available at all times.

Consistency is having a few simple habits you follow even when you’re busy… even when you’re tired… even when your week doesn’t go the way you planned.

Because those habits are what keep your business moving forward when life is life-ing.

And the best part? Consistency doesn’t have to be complicated to work. It just has to be something you can stick with.

Here are three simple consistency habits that make a bigger impact than most people realize:

1) The Weekly Reset

One of the biggest reasons advisors feel overwhelmed isn’t because they have too much to do, it’s because their business starts to feel like it’s running at them.

A weekly reset gives you your power back.

Once a week, set aside 20 minutes and ask yourself:

What’s already on my calendar?
What needs follow-up?
What’s my #1 priority this week?

That’s it.

It doesn’t have to be fancy. You don’t need a perfect planner. You don’t need a color-coded system.

You just need a moment to regroup and lead your week instead of reacting to it.

2) A Follow-Up Rhythm You Can Actually Maintain

This one is huge, and it’s where so many businesses quietly lose momentum.

Because the biggest missed opportunity in most travel businesses isn’t a lack of leads.
It’s a lack of consistent follow-up.

Not because advisors don’t care but because follow-up often becomes the thing we do when we have time. And most weeks… we never magically “have time.”

So instead of aiming for perfect, aim for repeatable.

Pick a rhythm that fits your real life:

Daily
Every other day
Twice a week
One power hour a week

And make that your standard.

Consistency here builds trust, increases conversions, and keeps you from living in that constant cycle of “I need more leads” when the truth is… you may just need more follow-through.

3) A “Stop Restarting” Mindset

This might be the most important one.

So many advisors feel like they’re starting over every Monday.
Or every time they take a day off.
Or every time life gets busy.

But you don’t need a fresh start.

You need a steady one.

You’re allowed to pick up where you left off without turning it into a whole reset of your identity, your business plan, and your confidence.

Progress isn’t about being perfect every week. It’s about staying connected to your business even when things aren’t ideal.

You don’t have to restart.
You just have to return.

If your business has felt a little scattered lately, here’s your reminder:

You don’t need a massive overhaul to get back on track.
You need one small habit you can repeat.

Because here’s what happens when you stay consistent:
Consistency builds confidence.
Confidence builds momentum.
Momentum builds results.

So keep it simple.
Keep it steady.
And keep going.
