AI Tip: 3 Easy Follow-Ups For Better Output

Stop accepting the first answer. These three short follow-ups turn a good AI draft into one you'd actually send.

Complexity Level:  ✈️  (1 minute, no setup required)

This one is short and sweet. No matter which AI model you're using, the first thing AI gives you is almost never the best thing it can give you.

Most people type a request, read the answer, and move on. That leaves the real value sitting right there, one message away. The skill to build: follow-up.

Here are three SUPER SIMPLE moves that work every time

"Make it shorter." AI overwrites. Tell it to cut by half. What comes back is almost always tighter and more useful, especially for client emails, where every extra sentence is a sentence they won't read. Bonus if you give it more guidance, but even just those three words will do the trick.

"Now write it for [a specific person]." Swap in your actual reader. "Someone who's never cruised before." "A retired couple who hate tours." "A family with a 3-year-old." The output goes from generic to sharp because you gave it a real target.

"What am I missing?" This one surprises people. AI will often surface a question you forgot to ask the client, a detail you skipped, or an angle that makes the whole thing better.

Each follow-up takes about five seconds. Two of them will regularly turn a draft you'd need to totally rewrite into one you'd send as-is, or close to it.

Try this today

Pull up any AI output from this week: an email draft, a trip summary, a supplier comparison, etc. and hit it with two of the follow-ups from the list above. See what comes back.

– Keep building with AI,

Jason
