How I Built a Professional Website in Less Than an Hour

Hello WorldVia Travel Network Family,

The holiday season is now in full swing. I know, yikes! This time of year is always incredibly busy, so when you stumble across something that does what it advertises, does it well, and does it fast, it really is noteworthy.

I’ll confess: I have something in mind hereit’s our Sites platform, which can help you build professional, mobile-responsive websites as efficiently as possible.

Now, this isn’t a shameless plug for Sites. It really did help me solve a pressing problem, and I walked away so impressed and satisfied that I wanted to share the experience with you.

Sometimes, you just need to get things done, like fast. Yesterday, battling a bad head cold and even worse jet lag, I found myself in a situation where I needed to set up a special-purpose website extremely quickly.

The goal was clear: create a branded website featuring a specific logo, showcase cruise promotions, write a few blog articles and connect a domain that was already set up on GoDaddy, and do it all as fast as possible.

Most of WorldVia’s company websites are far more complex than what I was setting out to build. That meant I had never personally built a website using Sites before, I hadn’t watched any of our many, many Sites training videos, and I hadn’t read any of our helpful solutions articles. All I had was a goal, a logo, and a deadline.

I decided Sites was the perfect tool at my disposal to solve the problem quickly and easily. Within less than an hour, I had a professional-looking website live and ready to go. Here’s how it unfolded:

The Sites app made the process incredibly intuitive. I started with one of our templates and opted in to the cruise-focused Dynamic Promotions (this created a Cruise Deals page on my new website). Once in the Sites editor, I now had the template and was ready to edit.

I clicked on the placeholder log and uploaded my logo image. The template had a dark background header by default and the logo looked terrible. In a couple of clicks I changed the header to a white background and then changed the template’s theme colors to match the two colors in my logo. In the theme settings I also changed the buttons from square to rounded bubbles and selected a primary color.

I quickly made a few edits to the home page text and the footer text, not having to

worry about coding or complex design elements—the pre-made sections and widgets were easy to use and gave the site a polished look right out of the gate.

Adding the blog posts was just as simple. I used AIVIA—our AI-powered business partner— to generate the text for two cruise-focused blog posts. As the Sites app includes tools for creating and publishing blog content, I was able to paste in this content from AIVIA and publish two articles directly within the platform. Plus, with the built-in SEO tools, I could automatically generate and optimize the website’s settings. I didn’t need to be an expert in SEOTthe app guided me through the process seamlessly.

Finally, connecting the domain was straightforward. Even though my domain was registered with GoDaddy, the Sites app made it easy to link everything together. Within minutes, my website was live with the custom domain, ready to showcase cruise promotions and blog content to visitors.

The result? A fully functional, professional website completed in less than an hour. It wasn’t perfect, but it was exactly what I needed to meet my immediate goals. Now I personally know why so many WorldVia advisors have built their website on Sites!

This experience was another reminder that progress and results matter more than perfection. With the right tools, you can achieve incredible results quickly, even without prior experience or preparation.

If you’re looking for a way to ramp up your online presence (or just get one started) without spending days or weeks on design and development, I can personally recommend giving Sites a try. It’s fast, user-friendly, and packed with features that make building a website accessible to everyone.

Here's to making the most of your time in this action-packed holiday season!

Best success,

Jason
